On Thursday 54 students from SLC and MLC participated in The Kids’ Cancer Project ‘Write a Book in a Day’ to create an illustrated book in 12 hours. Each team gets given a number of parameters and random words to include in their story, with each team having between 5-10 team members.
It was a long day starting at 7:40 am and finished after 8:30 pm that evening. During that time students spent hours developing their stories, writing, editing and illustrating their books. The students were fantastic, showed resilience and perseverance, and created some incredible stories. These books are aimed at 10-14yr old’s and will be shared with children in hospitals around the country.
The Kids’ Cancer Project is a charity that raises funds for cancer research and supports families across Australia. You can learn more about the project here.
