GOLD COAST INVITATIONAL 2024
Hillcrest Christian College warmly welcomes you to the 2024 GOLD COAST INVITATIONAL (GCI) – the tournament was first established in 2014 and has undergone significant growth over the last seven years to become the largest school tournament on the Gold Coast. The holiday lifestyle that the Gold Coast has to offer is a bonus for any touring teams and provides the ideal backdrop for this event. In 2019 the College began working closely with Gold Coast Basketball to ensure the best possible facilities and management is offered to school teams.
The tournament will take place from 4 July – 7 July 2024.
GCI is open to male and female school teams in Open Division (must not be turning 19 in 2024) and 15 Years and under (must not be turning 16 in 2024). Local, interstate and international schools have been invited to participate in this tournament. All games will be played at the Coomera Indoor Sports Centre, Coomera, all games will be 8 minute fully timed quarters with 24 second clock. All other rules will be as per FIBA regulations. A Sport Medic will be onsite throughout the tournament.
The nomination fee for the tournament is $850.00 exclusive of GST for all teams, and provides for a minimum of six games; (subject to sufficient nominations for the relevant division received by the closing date). It is highly likely that we will restrict all age groups and divisions to 12 teams in 2024.
Final closing date for acceptance of this invitation with your completed online registration form and full payment is 10 June, 2024.
There will be no refunds provided after this date.
Teams and individual players must ensure that their own personal accident and injury insurance includes coverage for this tournament. Schools nominating teams need to also provide a copy of their current public liability certificate of currency. The draw will be available a minimum of two weeks prior to the tournament start date and there are no draw requests.
