On Wednesday 26 August, the Hillcrest Christian College Dance Team competed in a state wide eisteddfod against over 50 schools across Queensland. Phoenix Online High School Dance Challenge is a virtual online Eisteddfod who have redefined the nature of competing. We thank them for giving our College and the Dance Team a chance to compete this season. It was incredible to see our Dance Team working towards something new and exciting in a year that has been so different to the past. The dancers were diligent, courageous, passionate and were over-joyed with their results celebrating each other and the College. They came 1st overall in their Contemporary category. We then entered an Online International Dance Challenge, where we competed against dancers from Australia, United States of America, Canada and the United Kingdom. Art n’ Soul Virtual Dance Challenge is a unique event where dancers are able to connect online on the international stage. Our dancers were adjudicated by their Los Angeles based professional faculty and we came 1st in the Overall Teen Small Group category. A massive thank you to their teachers Miss Natasha Stenta, Miss Zoe Henderson and Mrs Sheena Artunduaga. A special mention also goes to Mr Josh Smith and his team for recording and editing our dances.
